Announcing Our First Web 2.0 Workshop

You are cordially invited to join our upcoming workshop hosted by the Second Language Teaching and Research Center (L2TReC). This workshop will explore two Web 2.0 tools useful for all language teachers. Computers and laptops in education are important but even more so when used with good pedagogy. Digital content and creation now play an essential role in education.

The first Building Your Digital ToolBox for Language Teachers will cover the following tools.

iSpraak is an online activity generator designed for foreign language educators. This web-based application automates speech evaluation for second language learners. The instructor sets up the activity by selecting the language of instruction and including a short text for students to read. The student then practices speaking and is given immediate feedback, along with audio help from native speakers for problematic words.

iSpraak currently supports Arabic, Croatian, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Canva is a graphic design program that can be used to design presentations, social media graphics with a wide variety of layouts. You don't need to know Photoshop to design your own course banner. Canva allows you to easily create beautiful designs for your online Canvas course.
