Returning Student? Register Early!

 

New Students Preparing to take your 1st Bridge Course, send us your official AP score soon!

The University of Utah requires that all incoming Bridge Program students submit an OFFICIAL AP SCORE to the University of Utah with a score of 3 or higher, as proof of meeting the prerequisite for enrollment. (Please note, the University of Utah does not accept AP score reports via the Common Application.) 

Please enroll and register before the first day of class in August. This allows you to connect with online course materials for your first day. 

We strongly recommend you order your official AP score by May 31st to assure your score arrives to your partner university on time.

Sending an Official AP Language and Culture Score to the University of Utah:

  • Order your 1 FREE score sent through My AP by May 31, 2020.

    1. Log-in to My AP (https://myap.collegeboard.org/login)
    2. Select: My AP Profile
    3. Click on the Score Send tab and select your high school’s Bridge Program partner university.
  • After June 20, you may send your AP score to your partner university for a $15 fee. After this date, your score may not arrive in time for enrollment / registration.

Before you register make sure you have the following:

  1. Student Email and Parent/Guardian Email: you and your parent/guardian will be sent a validation code and enrollment confirmation to the email you enter. Make sure you check these emails for notifications.
  2. State Student I.D. (This may be different from your school I.D. number. Please ask your Language Teacher for help to access your State Student I.D.)
  3. Credit card: to pay $15 tuition for Registration.
  4. Student Identification Type (select from the types below):

 

  • U.S. Citizen - If the student is a U.S. citizen you will need to have your SSN (Social Security Number). If you do not have a social security number, you will select “International".
  • International Student – select “International” if you do not have a Social Security Number, and indicate one of the following 5 options, listed below.
 
  1. International Student - if selected, it will show required fields for Country of Origin and Current VISA Type.
  2. Permanent Resident -  if selected it will show required fields for SSN or Alien Registration Number.
  3. Undocumented -  no documentation is required. Undocumented students are supported to enroll in Concurrent Enrollment, including  Bridge Program classes, and to attend college in Utah according to state code 53B-8-106.
  4. U.S. Non-Citizen National - American Samoa - if selected it will show a required field for SSN.
  5. Refugee/Asylee -  if selected it will show a required field for Alien Registration Number.

STEP 1

Enroll with the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE)

ENROLL WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH

  • Reminder: You are not registered for your Bridge Course until you 1) receive an email confirmation of enrollment from the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE), and 2) enroll with the University of Utah, and 3) register and pay for your course.
  • After clicking on the 'ENROLL WITH USHE TO ENSURE COLLEGE CREDIT' button below, expect the following:
    • View the 9-min. Video: The Concurrent Enrollment Participation Overview Video.
    • Complete the USHE Enrollment Form.
    • You must receive an email confirmation of enrollment from the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) before you can be assigned your University ID number and complete enrollment and registration for the Bridge Course.

STEP 2:

Enroll with the University of Utah

  • Reminder: You are not registered for your Bridge Course until you 1) receive an email confirmation of enrollment from the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE), and 2) enroll with the University of Utah, and 3) register and pay for your course.
  • After clicking on the 'REGISTER WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH' button below, expect the following:
    • Complete all required fields for University of Utah Enrollment.
    • Upon completion, be directed to register and pay for your bridge course.

STEP 3:

Register and Pay for Your Bridge Course

 

ENROLL WITH THE UTAH SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION (USHE)

 

  • Reminder: You are not registered for your Bridge Course until you 1) receive an email confirmation of enrollment from the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE), and 2) enroll with the University of Utah, and 3) register and pay for your course.
  • After clicking on the 'REGISTER AND PAY FOR YOUR COURSE' button below, expect the following:
    • CLICK on your high school
    • CLICK on your LANGUAGE/COURSE
    • PAY your $15 tuition for 3 college credits
  • You will receive a confirmation email once you have successfully completed your Course Registration & Payment. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your “junk” mail folder. If you still do not see it, contact L2TReC at:  L2TReC@utah.edu

STEP 4:

COMPLETE FERPA

 

ENROLL WITH THE UTAH SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION (USHE)

login to your university student dashboard to complete ferpa

  • To login, you will need your uNID (University of Utah ID). Returning students can recover their uNID to complete FERPA at: https://auxiliary.apps.utah.edu/uofu/misc/UnidRetrieval/  *If you are a new student, you will be able to complete Step 4 AFTER you receive your uNID from your instructor, the first week of class.*  
  • Your default password for first-time login is your birthday in 6-digits (mmddyy)
  • Student records at The University of Utah are governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its implementing regulations. A student must authorize the University of Utah to release information to any 3rd party, such as a parent or guardian.
  • If you have appointments with university departments that will be conducted online or by phone, you must create a FERPA pin in order to discuss your specific academic record.

Steps to complete your FERPA and release information: 

  1. Go to your Student Dashboard (https://www.stu.utah.edu)
  2. Enter your uNID and password
  3. Click Login

Your default password for first-time login is your birthday in 6-digits (mmddyy).

*For help finding your uNID, click here - OR, you can call Campus Help Desk and tell them your FIRST/LAST Name and they will provide you with your uNID: 801-581-4000.

 

After you have logged in to cis.utah.edu, click on the person icon (Your name and your student number will be under the icon.)

 

In your profile settings within cis.utah.edu, click on the FERPA Consent to Release Form link on the left navigation menu. It will be the second from the bottom.

 

In the FERPA section of your profile settings, read the release form at the top of the page.

 

In the FERPA section of your profile settings, click on the campus departments that can release your student information using your PIN.

 

In the FERPA section of your profile settings, create your PIN. Be sure to write your PIN down and save it in a secure location. If you filled out the preparation checklist, you can note it there. 

 

In the FERPA section of your profile settings, enter a list of names and email addresses to which University of Utah agencies are authorized to share information, then click 'Save'.

 

Don't forget to give your PIN number to the individuals you listed in step 7.

  • Note: If you request information to be released to your email account, the information will be sent to your Umail account. 
  • Your listed authorized individuals will need to provide an official government-issued ID, such as a valid driver's license or passport, your name, your uNID, and PIN to verify that you have authorized the University of Utah to release your records to them.

DROPPING OR WITHDRAWING FROM A COURSE

The following forms need to be filled out in the event that you need to drop the Bridge Program course from your university schedule or withdraw from the course. Keep in mind that the University has strict deadlines fro dropping or withdrawing from courses.
