University of Utah 2019 Bridge Program Enrollment

Dear Student and Parents/Guardians,

  1. Students must meet the university course prerequisite of a score of 3 or higher on the AP Language and Culture exam taken in grade 9, 10, or 11 before they can enroll in a Bridge Program advanced language course:
  • If you enrolled in “DLI 5” and received a 1 or 2 on the AP exam, your next course will be high school AP Language. This course allows you to study high school AP course content, with the opportunity to take the AP Language exam at the end of the year. It is completely fine to take the AP Language exam more than one time.
  • If you receive a 3, 4, or 5 on the AP exam, you have met the prerequisite to enroll in the 2019-20 Bridge course.
  1. Students must enroll and appear on the high school Bridge Course roster.
  2. Students must also a.) Enroll and b.) Register through the University of Utah.

If you meet the prerequisite and intend to participate in the upcoming year’s Bridge course… your goal should be to complete Enrollment and Course Registration before the first day of class at your high school.

NEW BRIDGE STUDENTS

NEW BRIDGE STUDENTS (Preparing to take your 1st Bridge Course)

Starting 2019, the University of Utah requires that all incoming Bridge Program students submit an OFFICIAL AP SCORE to the University as proof of meeting the prerequisite for enrollment. (Please note, the University of Utah does not accept AP score reports via the Common Application.)

Sending an Official AP Language and Culture Score to the University of Utah

  • You may have requested your score to have your score sent to the University of Utah for free on the day of your AP exam. If so, you are set!
  • If you did NOT send your AP score to the University of Utah on AP exam day, you must complete the following:
  • Log in to your College Board account to view and send your AP scores. Go to: https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/score-reporting/
  • On the first page after you log in, click on the “Send Scores to Colleges Now” button to get started.
  • The fee for standard delivery of score reports ordered online is $15 per report. Standard delivery takes approximately 7-14 business days. For this reason, send your AP score by mid-July.
