The Bridge Program is a Partnership Between Utah's K-12 and Higher Education Systems

As a part of higher education’s partnership with USBE to offer early college Concurrent Enrollment credit, the Utah Bridge Program focus is centered on supporting access to bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural citizenship, and meeting each student’s potential in college pathways.

Bridge Student and Teacher Accomplishments

  1. Utah High School Portuguese Fair

    The Portuguese Fair is designed for students in Utah high school Bridge and DLI 6 programs to showcase the language skills and cultural knowledge that they have developed through the years. Students will participate in competitive events in Portuguese, and all students will receive a certificate of participation with a rating by judges, with trophies awarded to the top-performing schools. Information will also be available for high school seniors and juniors about Portuguese programs and international programs at Utah universities.

  2. USU - Mehdi Heravi Global Teaching and Learning Center

    USU Cuts Ribbon for the Mehdi Heravi Global Teaching and Learning Center "We are promoting something good, and good things never die." - Dr. Mehdi Heravi | Philanthropist and USU Alum October marked the opening of the new Mehdi Heravi Global Teaching and Learning Center. The center will serve as a campus hub for the university's language programs.

  3. Uncovering Chinese Railroad Workers’ Experience in Utah through Archaeology

    This event is designed for Chinese Bridge students who are currently enrolled in the CHIN 3117 course, which is offered by six public universities and conducted in 29 high schools across Utah. The event agenda includes a campus tour, a warm welcome from our sponsors, and an engaging interactive lecture centered around the history of Chinese Railroad Workers in Utah during the 1860s. Following the lecture, we have scheduled a stimulating panel discussion, featuring an archaeologist, descendants of Chinese railroad workers, and a Broadway musical composer.

  4. Spanish Bridge Students Win Short Film Contest - "Concurso de Cortometrajes: 2º Festival de Cine Joven Puentes 2022”

    The 2022 Spanish Bridge Program Short Film Contest was held, with students from four high schools receiving top awards.
