L2TReC Scholars Present a Workshop at 2024 SWCOLT
On February 29th, Elnaz Kia, in her role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at L2TReC, delivered a well-received preconference workshop at the 2024 Southwest Conference on Language Teaching (SWCOLT) in Honolulu, HI. She was joined by L2TReC's esteemed former director, Fernando Rubio, and Valerie Sky, an assistant professor of applied linguistics at Cal Poly Pomona. Their collaborative effort was noted for its engagement and attendance, contributing positively to the conference.

2023 Student Research Grant Applications
The purpose of the L2TReC Student Research Grants Program is to (1) enhance the research education of University of Utah students and (2) promote the research mission of L2TReC via support for student research projects. Application deadlines are October 15 and March 15 of each year; awarded funds must be used within one calendar year.

2022 Summer Corpus Workshop for Dual Language Immersion Teachers
This workshop aims to prepare current and future Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teachers to create authentic teaching materials for DLI classrooms using learner corpora. The 6-hour in-person workshop will include lectures and practice sessions on the following topics: analyzing sample corpus-informed teaching materials in various languages; using corpus linguistic tools and techniques; developing corpus-informed activities based on corpus search results.
